DEAR MR. FIX IT,

When I called in to get the plumber to come out, the lady at the front desk said that the $95/hr rate includes 'portal to portal' (service call pricing for plumbing and electrical work). What does that mean?

'Portal to portal' (service call pricing for plumbing and electrical work for Mr. Fix It) means the travel time for the duration of a job. We count all the time used to complete the project, and that includes getting our tradesmen from the office to your home, plus any trips for parts and materials, if needed. Our tradesmen try to have all possible equipment on their vehicles, but sometimes they need something special or in a higher quantity.

All time stops once the project is complete. You will not be charged for their return trip. ( service call pricing for plumbing and electrical mr fix it)
